Whatever the kind of watch, its appearance takes precedence. Cartier firmly remains a jeweler. Almost every watch it invents includes a highly precious jewelry version, and many women's models are principally conceived to be decorative: a bracelet with a watch rather than a watch with a bracelet. Some of them are extraordinarily sumptuous, sublime hymns to the passage of time.
