Paragenesis

PARAGENESIS
From the Greek para meaning “akin” and genesis meaning “birth”, this term refers to a group of minerals that form in contact in the same environment. The paragenesis of a gem, i.e. the minerals with which it forms, can influence its growth. During its formation a mineral can also “trap” elements from its paragenesis within its structure. These will become inclusions.
