Tortue perpetual calendar watch
Automatic, white gold
Cartier’s first self-winding movement with a perpetual calendar demonstrates great creativity in two areas: the excellent readability of the day and date functions and the innovative calendar display.
These characteristics, exclusive to the 9422 MC movement, are displayed on an impressive dial: the days of the week are indicated by a retrograde hand, the date is shown in large numbers around the dial and the month and years counter is positioned at 12 o’clock.
This superb watchmaking achievement can also be admired for the supreme care devoted to its fine details, all of which reflect the timeless nature of the Tortue watch – one of the Cartier shaped watches – which was created in 1912 and went on to become one of Cartier's most legendary complication watches in the 1920s.
