Rotonde de Cartier Grande Complication Skeleton pocket watch
59 mm, manual, 18K white gold
In reviving a long tradition of complication pocket watches, Cartier again shows its status as a major Manufacture of Fine Watchmaking by reinterpreting the design codes of this kind of timepiece in a contemporary style.
The famous creator of shaped watches offers a superb new interpretation of the pocket watch: a generous case of 59.2 mm entirely skeletonized from a single block of solid gold from which its Roman numerals emerge.
This exceptional size enables us to admire the 9436 MC movement with its impressive technical characteristics which include a tourbillon, a perpetual calendar, a single push-piece chronograph, and an 8-day power reserve.
The skeletonizing, and the chamfering of the Roman numerals and the movement, require 300 hours of meticulous work with an additional 200 hours for assembling and regulating this exceptional piece.
